DETAIL
ONE SHELTER, MULTIPLE USES
Because Paleto is a platform rather than a single fixed design, the same shelter family covers bicycle parking (single or two-tier, at up to 3 m height),with optional e-bike charging, scooter and motorcycle parking, secure cycle lockers, covered walkways, smoking shelters and general equipment storage — often within the same structure. That flexibility means one specification can serve several needs on a single site, and be adapted or extended in later phases as usage patterns change.
SPECIFIED FOR SUSTAINABILITY
An optional sedum (green) roof — supported by the raised roof-edge option — adds biodiversity and SuDS value to the scheme, while the LED lighting with motion sensors is specified to BREEAM-NL guidelines to help support the sustainability credentials of the wider development. The e-bike charging points future-proof the shelter for the continued shift to electric-assist cycling, and FSC-certified timber keeps the specification aligned with responsible-sourcing requirements.
MODULAR DESIGN
The Paleto Shelter System gives specifiers and contractors a genuinely modular cycle and storage shelter platform: not a fixed product, but a flexible building-block system that can be configured, enclosed and extended as demand grows.
Starting from a base module and adding extension bays, Paleto scales from a compact single-bay shelter to a large-scale mobility hub, without redesigning the structure from scratch. At its core sits a robust 80×80mm steel box-section frame in hot-dip galvanised steel, coated and finished in a range of RAL colours of your choice.
Wall infill can be specified in hardwood (sapele), softwood (redwood) and a duo-wire mesh, letting you dial enclosure up to a fully secure, lockable cycle store or down to an open, welcoming canopy. The roof comes as standard with a trapezoidal deck, which can be upgraded to a sedum green roof, and it sheds from water through the hollow steel posts, with drainage concealed below ground and connected directly to concrete footings or the site's rainwater system, so there's no visible guttering to interrupt the design.
ENGINEERED FOR REAL SITES
Three anchoring methods — surface-mounted with chemical anchors, flush-fitted to a concrete footing, or flush-fitted with a concealed rainwater connection — mean Paleto can be specified for paved plazas, new-build podium decks or retrofit sites alike. Single (approx. 1.1 m) and double (approx. 2.2 m) door options, door closers and access-control hardware are available as options, where fully secure storage is required.
Supplied and installed by BSFG as part of a single, UK-coordinated project — from CAD-supported specification through to manufacture, delivery and aftercare — Paleto is built for transport hubs, universities and schools, business parks, hospitals, residential developments and public realm cycle parking schemes that need infrastructure to last, and to grow.
