- Wait 1-2 hours before recoating. Fully cured coating can be washed after 72 hours.
- Additional dry time may be needed in cooler temperatures and higher humidity
DETAIL
SURFACE PREPARATION†
The following steps and products are required:
- If needed, lightly sand to remove any wood fibers/fuzz.
- Allow the area to dry at least 24 hours before coating.
- When stripping is not needed, the surface MUST be prepared with a wood cleaner to remove mill glaze and clean the wood surface.
- To remove loose and failing coatings or wood fibers, use a wood stain & finish stripper followed by a wood cleaner & brightener to neutralize the wood.
- After using a stripper or cleaner & brightener, rinse the surface thoroughly with a garden hose or pressure washer. When rinsing with a pressure washer, use the broadest spray pattern while keeping the nozzle at least 24" away from the surface.
APPLICATION
- Two thin coats required.
- Do not thin product.
- Apply the product when temperature is between 35-90˚F.
- Avoid applying in direct sunlight or on heated surfaces.
- Do not use if rain is expected within 24 hours.
- The surface must be completely dry before application.
- Keep a wet edge to reduce lapping and help control color uniformity.
- Stir product occasionally throughout application and intermix containers of same product for color uniformity.
- Over-application of stain will lead to surface failure including peeling and cracking.
- For airless spraying use .015-.019" tip (60 mesh filter). PUMP SPRAYER NOT RECOMMENDED.
- Apply with a nylon/polyester brush. On rough or textured wood apply with a 3/4" long nap roller or high quality airless sprayer
-.Spray in small sections slightly saturating the surface and immediately back-brush or back-roll to eliminate puddling. Remove excess and evenly distribute the stain.
