PREPARATION AND APPLICATION

PREPARATION AND APPLICATION

The preparation and installation data refer to normal environmental conditions (temperature +20°C; relative humidity 60%).

PREPARING THE SURFACES

Before applying REVOMAT reinforcement mesh, the substrate must be carefully prepared. The masonry must be clean and free of plaster, dust and loose materials. Plasters must be removed with hand or mechanical tools until the solid underlying masonry is reached. Any cavities or lesions must be repaired with specific Volteco mortars.

If necessary, use stone, brick or tuff similar to the original materials to fill in the gaps. Remove dirt, dust and any processing residues that may affect the adhesion of the mortar to the substrate (possibly with a pressure washer).

APPLICATION

Locate the anchorage points for the connectors before laying the revomat mesh, according to the project Specifications. Drill the holes at the intended points and thoroughly clean the cavities with an air blower to completely remove dust, Debris and loose material. Proceed with the installation, using the bi fix 300 chemical anchor, of the steel connector 20 or the revogrid Connector-l in gfrp (glass fiber reinforced polymer) following the distribution diagram and the design Anchorage depth (see relevant data sheets).

Revomat must be placed immediately after the application of the first coat of volteco mortar, while it is still fresh, Favouring incorporation into it. Rolls of revomat should be overlapped by at least 10 cm both lengthwise and crosswise to ensure continuity in all Directions.

Revomat must then be covered with a second coat of volteco mortar, which must be spread evenly and compactly, Taking care to fill in any voids or discontinuities remaining in the first coat.

At the end of this operation, revomat should be positioned at approximately half of the total thickness of the Plasterwork made, so as to ensure a correct distribution of the mechanical stresses and an optimal behaviour of the System.

With regard to the preparation, application methods and recommended thicknesses of volteco mortar, always refer to the technical data sheet of the chosen product.
