NPS® TOP-DOWN
NPS® TOP-DOWN
The single-span NPS® Top-Down system exclusively employs self-supporting NPS® beams, placed on perimeter diaphragms. In this way, the beams perform both the function of a temporary strut, counteracting wall deformation, and that of a permanent load-bearing element. This solution eliminates the need for temporary struts and allows for a high speed of construction.

REFERENCES
For decades, the NPS® Top-Down system has been successfully used in many projects, from residential buildings to car parks and infrastructure. The reason? The solution gives the possibility to carry out the excavation and laying phases of the structures simultaneously, guaranteeing speed and high construction flexibility. In addition, the general planner can count on Tecnostrutture’s engineering support for more efficient and simpler construction.

THE NPS® SYSTEM LIFE CYCLE
NPS® System contributes to reducing environmental impact throughout the life cycle and to obtaining LEED and DGNB credits. Produced in the factory, the elements are assembled on site in total self-supporting manner, eliminating the need for temporary formwork and shoring, thus speeding up construction time. After concrete casting, NPS® results in a composite structure with characteristics that comply with the performance levels required by the Eurocodes and Italian NTC 2018.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
Common application areas include:
- Underground car parks
- IUnderground car parks
- Large buildings with underground floors
ADVANTAGES
- Speed of execution
- Total self-supporting beams
- Containment of excavation within the site perimeter
PERFORMANCE SLIM-SYSTEM
NPS® New Performance Slim-System is a complete and flexible modular system developed by Tecnostrutture. It consists of composite steel-concrete beams and columns, made from up to 93% recycled steel and equipped with an Environmental Product Declaration based on Life Cycle Assessment per kg of product.

ASSEMBLY
ASSEMBLY
One of the most innovative features of this solution is the possibility of carrying out the excavation and structure installation phases simultaneously. This means that while excavation is taking place, beams are immediately placed to support the perimeter bulkheads, guaranteeing the stability of the excavation itself.
This mode of operation, referred to as ‘covered excavation’, allows construction to proceed safely and efficiently, reducing construction time and minimising impact on the surroundings.
