TIE MOVEMENT DOES NOT AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE
Tie movement does not affect the performance of Contech Collector Pans. They are not rigidly attached to the ties, but “float” on them through various attachment methods based on the type application involved.
INSTALLATION
Installation on descending grades is as easily done as on level track—and often more economically.
RAIL COLLECTOR PANS FOR OIL COLLECTION
Collector Pans are a modular system of steel pans easily installed on existing or new tracks to catch spilled or leaking fuel, oils, greases and other pollutants.
OIL COLLECTION FOR RAIL TRACKS
Typical applications are along fueling stations, ready tracks, tank car loading and unloading areas, washing facilities—anywhere that pollutants can drip from standing rail cars or other equipment. Their effectiveness has been proven in hundreds of installations for both railroads and industry.
ON INSTALLATIONS AROUND CURVES
On installations around curves, pans can be furnished preformed to fit most curves and simple field modifications will meet practically any field condition.
UNDERDRAINS CAN BE INCLUDED
Underdrains can be included as part of your Contech Collector Pans system. Our PVC plastic pipe is effective with its oil-tight joints and high flow characteristics. Manholes and catch basins are also used on many installations.
EASY FIELD INSTALLATION WITH MINIMAL DOWNTIME
No special installation skills are needed. A competent foreman, welder and four or five unskilled laborers can easily install a system. It involves only a minimal amount of track downtime contrasted with the installation of concrete aprons—which requires weeks of expensive, wasted time.
EASILY FITTED AROUND RAIL JOINTS
Easily fitted around rail joints by field cutting with a torch to the approximate outline of the joint bars and bolts. Contech strongly recommends that rail joints be welded through all pan installations.
LONG SERVICE LIFE
Contech's galvanized or black steel Collector Pans are completely reusable when yard layouts, fueling facilities or ready tracks change. And if an accident damages one, its modular construction means that only the damaged section needs to be replaced. Coated and stainless steel pans are available by request
