PEARL BATHTUB
PEARL BATHTUB
Designed by Alberto Apostoli
The exterior, with its irregular, textured, gray finish, is the exact opposite of the smooth, glossy, and light-colored interior: it is in this surprising dichotomy that the design concept of the Pearl bathtub, designed by Alberto Apostoli for Kreoo, explodes.
Designer
MATTEO NUNZIATI
Alberto Apostoli graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Venice in 1993, studying and working in various European countries, seeking inspiration from every corner.
Curious about almost all subjects, he particularly loves the arts, nature, and fashion. She's interested in the world's diverse cultures; being Italian, in her opinion, means being hungry for beauty wherever it is.
He therefore immediately felt the need to have his own studio, due to an innate desire for independence and the natural inclination that has always pushed him not to be a "traditional" architect, oriented towards contamination.
He founded it in 1997, seeking an innovative approach to the profession, both in its approach to design and the themes it addresses: thus, he initially became interested in the world of ephemeral architecture, in technologies generally applied to construction, and in the relationship between design and communication.
The world of Wellness, which he approached almost by chance a couple of years later, represents the pinnacle of his professional research because it synthesizes in a unicum.
Architecture, culture, philosophy, and the ability of a project to speak to people's bodies, minds, and souls, to speak of technology and poetry at the same time.
In 2006, he presented his thinking in a solo exhibition at the European Parliament on the theme of the intersection of architecture, design, and communication.
That same year, he opened a studio in Guangzhou, because the East, with its culture and approach, is an undeniable source of inspiration for those who intend to design and live beyond the material.
For over 20 years, he has designed iconic products and projects for various brands (some very well-known), which have opened up new markets for wellness.
Some of these projects have been patented and pioneered technologies that have now become commonplace in the industry. The projects he develops always strive to address well-being, sometimes fully, other times it remains in the background, but it's this approach that defines their uniqueness.
Whether they're spas, hotels, homes, shops, products, or urban parks, what matters to him is the essential and unique shared values that underpin the project. As unique is its relationship with the land and Nature, the thought that underlies it and the emotion it must communicate.

PEARL BATHTUB: A FUSION OF NATURE, TECHNOLOGY, AND WELLNESS
The resulting design is based on the balance between two intertwining aesthetics, enriched by the element of water, in which the user can immerse themselves, here a metaphor for the "pearl": the ergonomic inner shell, made of resin with a mother-of-pearl finish, is treated with tiny holes in the bottom of the tub through which pressurized air escapes, moving the liquid mass, providing a pleasant massaging sensation along the body.
This effect is created by the Airpool system, integrated for the first time into a natural stone tub, promoting a wellness dimension, accentuated by the insertion of a thin horizontal light beam and its ability to release the iridescence of the surface. The outer casing is made of Olive Grey marble and reveals a material workmanship, handcrafted and never identical, and a rim that widens at the center, on the long side, to accommodate the controls: a small flare that emphasizes the natural theme of the product's inspiration—the shell—and which includes the "technical machine" dedicated to the hydromassage. Designed for residential and hospitality environments, Pearl elevates the relationship between raw material, light, water, and refined technology to a poetic level, in a collection created for personal well-being.
