FEATURES
HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS AND CUSTOMIZABLE DESIGN
The distinctive feature of Salinas is the Shades handle, made of solid Canaletto Light Walnut wood. The doors and fronts, with recess for the handle, are made of lightweight panels of different materials and colours, offering a wide range of customizable options. From metal to lacquers, from textured cements to industrial glass, every detail has been thought of to create a unique kitchen.

Salinas is a creation that has received numerous awards, including the Wallpaper* Design Awards, the Edida-Elle Deco International Design Award and an ADI Compasso d’Oro Honorable Mention. The kitchen is based on a modular system which offers the possibility of hiding the worktop behind a folding door.
APPLICATION
Conceived to be extremely applicable and customizable, Salinas stands out for its open structure.
MATERIAL
Salinas can be set up based on a composition emphasising a single material or colour or according to a combination of materials and colours for each of the different elements to create a truly custom-made project. A new finishing from the Boffi range, the 3D Striped in MDi, characterises the doors, while the sliding solid wood snack counter, with its new dimensions, is placed on the top and is equipped with a technical support to lighten its presence and movement.

PATRICIA URQUIOLA
Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo (Spain) in 1961. Lives and works in Milan.
She attended the School of Architecture of Madrid Polytechnic and Milan Polytechnic, where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni.
From 1990 to 1992 she was assistant lecturer to both Achille Castiglioni and Eugenio Bettinelli in Milan and Paris.From 1990 to 1996 she was responsible for the product development office of De Padova, working with Vico Magistretti. In 1996 she became head of Lissoni Associati’s design group.
In 2001 she opened her own studio working on product design, architecture, and installations. Some of her latest projects in architecture include:

- Das Stue Hotel in Berlin, the Spa of the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan,

Some of her work is displayed in various museums and collections, such as MoMA in New York, Musée des Arts decoratifs in Paris, the Museum of Design in Zurich, the Vitra Design Museum in Basel, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Stedelijk in Amsterdam and the Triennale Museum in Milan.
She has won several international prizes and awards including the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes (Gold Medal in Fine Arts) awarded by the Spanish Government; Order of Isabella the Catholic, awarded by His Majesty The King of Spain Juan Carlos I; “Designer of the decade” for two German magazines, Home and Häuser, “Designer of the Year” for Wallpaper, Ad Spain, Elle Decor International and Architektur und Wohnen Magazine.
She was the Ambassador of the Milan Expo in 2015. She has been the Art Director of Cassina since September 2015. In 2014 she designs the kitchen Salinas for Boffi, which has been awarded the Wallpaper* Design Awards and EDIDA as Best Kitchen in 2015.

DEKTON® COMPOSITE
Very compact surface composed of quartz, materials used to produce glass and ceramic, treated with Sinterized Particle Technology and ultra-compaction process.
CORIAN®
It is a Solid Surface, non-porous and homogeneous, composed for about 1/3 of acrylic resin (polymethyl methacrylate or PMMA) and for about 2/3 of natural minerals consisting mainly of aluminium trihydrate (ATH), which is a mineral extracted from the bauxite used to produce aluminium.
STONE-MARBLE-GRANITE
Natural material extracted from quarry. Matt finish. The natural stones used by Boffi for the production of tops, panels, back panels, sinks, washbasins or bathtubs are always given a dedicated stain and oil-repellent and waterproof treatment to guarantee a high protection.
MDI COMPOSITE
Composite material made of high-purity minerals, by using Full Digital technology. “Natural” matt finish. The decorative design is on the front surface only. Features: - Surface: smoother-feeling texture and total control over the design, leading to outstanding visual properties. - Hygienic and nontoxic: Because it has a non-porous surface, this prevents the build-up of bacteria or mould. - Resistant: It is highly resistant to stains, heat, frost, thermal shock, scratches and impacts, ultraviolet rays and has a low water absorption rate. - Ecological: -70% savings on water consumption and -90% reduction in atmospheric emissions during the production process. 50% made with recycled materials.

Tempered glass
SOLID WOOD
Wood layers, with support made of strip wood. Boffi uses only wood from not primary forests, to guarantee an adequate restoration of the renewable raw materials. Doors and panels have vertical grain. The “old“ grey pinewood consists of pinewood solid boards recycled from renovation of old houses, barns and huts. The characteristic grey tone of this material is obtained by specific painting cycles, which give the typical “old” aspect to this wood. Possible cracks and deformations have to be considered characteristic part of the product.
Since these pieces are very unique, they have the typical appeal of “imperfect things“ and they clearly display sign of times and bad weather; therefore they show deformations and wrinkles strength. Worktops obtained with old wooden boards offer a clear example of the wood vitality and instability. For this reasons each piece in solid wood has to be considered considered “unique“ and different from all the other ones.

ECOLAK
Water-based “soft touch” matt lacquer. Features: The following features make ECOLAK a top-quality finish: -Water-based “soft touch” paint, bi-component and undiluted (not contaminated by external agents), designed and produced exclusively for Boffi. -Colour range, exclusive for Boffi. -Excellent chemical and physical resistance – tested in laboratories. -Very low yellowing effect over time. -Coat of isolating paint Primer and double layers of polyester plastering, ideal for reducing small imperfections on surfaces and allowing a better coverage. -Base coat of polyester. -Coat of isolating paint Primer for corners and edges. -Two paint coats, cross-applied.
LASERMAT
Nanotechnological matt “soft touch” FENIX NTM® surface. FENIX NTM® The exterior decorative surface is obtained starting from thermosetting last generation resins that, thanks to the use of nanotechnology (NTM), make the surface extraordinary from a mechanical, aesthetic and functional point of view. FENIX NTM® UNICOLOR Obtained starting from thermosetting last generation resins that, thanks to the use of nanotechnology (NTM), make the surface extraordinary from a mechanical, aesthetic and functional point of view (colour-core).
SILCOLAK
Water-based textured matt lacquer. The following features make SILCOLAK a top-quality finish: -Water-based textured paint, bi-component and undiluted (not contaminated by external agents), designed and produced exclusively for Boffi. -Colour range, exclusive for Boffi. -Excellent chemical and physical resistance (tested in laboratories). -Very low yellowing effect over time. -Coat of isolating paint Primer and double layers of polyester plastering, ideal for reducing small imperfections on surfaces and allowing a better coverage. -Base coat of polyester. -Coat of isolating paint Primer for corners and edges. -Two paint coats, cross-applied.
METALS
Metal-effect lacquer. Metals is a special finishing which reproduces the typical effect of brushed metallic surfaces, rendered through a very precise and technical sequence of production cycles. The characteristic metallic effect of the surface is given by the alternation of manual and mechanical processes, by the quality of the metal particles-enriched solvent-based paints and by the complex drying procedure. The various shades of colour (halos caused by the spread of the paint chromium particles) and the succession of multi-directional brushing of the surface make each piece a unique and exclusive one.
METAL OF DE CASTELL
Exclusive-appearance metal sheet obtained with special chemical and / or mechanical treatments. For generations the “mission” of De Castelli has been to enhance the natural metals such as iron, steel, brass and copper, making them unique thanks to dedicated and sophisticated mechanical or chemical treatments. The chromatic and aesthetic effects created are peculiar and highly distinctive. The metals of De Castelli are protected only by transparent paints, in full respect of the core of the metal used.
