PRELIMINARY CHECKS AND JOINT PREPARATION

-Remove any plastic spacers. -Check that the adhesive or mortar used for tile bonding is completely set and dry. -The joints must be clean, free from dust and empty for the entire depth of the tiles. -Any traces of adhesive or mortar spilled back into the joints must be removed. -Make sure that the ceramic and porcelain tiles can easily be cleaned and their surface is not absorbent. Certain types of tiles (e.g., polished porcelain stoneware) or natural stones have micro-porosities and surface roughness that can cause surface staining and make cleaning very difficult. -Spot tests should always be performed.

DETAIL

APPLICATIONS

-Apply the mix in the joints using a special rubber float until saturation, making diagonal movements with respect to the direction of the joints and removing any excess material from the surface of the ceramic covering. -The product can be applied at temperatures between +10°C and +30°C inclusive. -Avoid strong air currents that may prematurely dry the product on the surface of the tiles or mosaics.

-Do not use if the temperature is forecast to drop below +10°C in the following 24 hours. -Protect all surfaces against rain wash for 7 days. -FillGood EVO is a product in aqueous dispersion and setting occurs by water evaporation. As a result, the cross-linking reaction and setting process is influenced by temperature, humidity, the absorption and thickness.-Partial filling of the joints may compromise the structural integrity of the product. Therefore, make sure you work the product into the joints with the grout rubber float until they are completely full.

-Be sure to spread the product over areas no larger than 3-4 m2 and in any case which can be cleaned within maximum 10 minutes. -In the case of temperatures close to +30°C it is advisable to spread the product over an area no more than 1 m2 and immediately proceed with cleaning. -To facilitate application (especially in hot climates), you can lightly moisten the surface of the tiles with the sponge supplied and duly squeezed out before applying the product in order to stop the water from collecting on the surface of the tiles or in the joints that are still unfilled. -This allows the product to be applied more effectively, slowing the formation of film on the surface of the tiles.

CLEANING AND FINISHING

-The joints are cleaned and finished with a specific sponge for use with FillGood EVO (art. 125G0001) or a Sweepex sponge (art. 128G0001), well -wrung and using circular movements, taking care not to empty the joints and without leaving halos on the surface. -Do not use cellulose sponges. -The least amount of water possible must be used to avoid damaging the product that is still fresh within the joints. Do not allow water to collect on the surface of fresh grouting and prevent the water used for cleaning from seeping into the unfilled joints. -Change the cleaning water frequently (roughly every 10 m2). -Avoid any further cleaning once drying has started, as rubbing with a sponge during the cross-linking reaction leads to the loss of surface resistance. -If clear halos remain on the surface of the ceramics or mosaics due to the film formed by the resin, it is possible to intervene at least 24 hours after grouting with the neutral cleaner, FillCleaner EVO. -Spread the undiluted product on the surface and after a few minutes, rub with the white felt pad (art. 109GBNC), rinse with a moist sponge and dry with a clean cloth. -FillCleaner EVO should be applied gradually in sections with a limited area (about 1-2 m2) so as not to leave it in contact with the grouting for more than 5 minutes. -After cleaning, the product will be set to light foot traffic after 24 hours.

ADVANTAGES /FEATURES

-Ready to use -Reusable -Once grouting is complete, any leftover material, if stored in the original packaging at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C, can be reused even after months, thus avoiding wastage. -Ideal for large sizes and low thickness slabs -No preparation is needed and it prevents the release of dust into the environment, as normally occurs with cementitious products

-Product exempt from restrictions for road, sea, air and rail transport -Stain-proof -Stable and consistent colouring on all types of tiles with exclusive chromatic effects -Extremely easy application and cleaning, even compared to normal cementitious grouts -Elastic -The products are coloured by the sintered quartz micro spheres, which are surface-coloured, thus avoiding the release of pigments on the surface of the ceramics or mosaics, making cleaning easier and faster -The particular fineness of the sintered quartz micro spheres contained in the product makes it possible to obtain extremely smooth and compact finishes -Special water-repellent additives incorporated into the product drastically reduce the surface absorption of the grouts, making them water-repellent with “drop effect”

-The FillGood EVO binder is made from polyurethane resins in aqueous dispersion which guarantee high stability against light, preventing yellowing or colour variations caused by exposure to UV rays or artificial light sources -The product does not contain cement, thus avoiding the formation of efflorescence typical of cementitious products -FillGood EVO does not contain solvents, irritants or corrosive substances and does not need to be labelled like normal cementitious or epoxy products -The user can therefore rely on a very safe product to work with -Product with very low volatile organic compound (VOC) emission rate. Complies with class EC1PLUS according to the EMICODE protocol and class A+ (Émission dans l’air intérieur - French Regulations).

INSTALLATION PLANNING

INSTALLATION

The only way to guarantee the long-lasting performance of ceramic and porcelain tile installations is to properly plan the process. It is therefore advisable to consult the national regulations in force in each country, for example standard UNI 11493 in Italy, which provides all necessary instructions regarding the choice of materials, correct planning, use and installation, so as to ensure all quality, performance and durability standards are safely met.

-Substrates : Before installation, check that substrates are clean, free of loose fragments, properly dried and cured, flat and level, and that mechanical strength requirements based on the intended use have been met.
-Worksite conditions : Check the suitability of the temperature, humidity, light conditions etc. at the time of the product’s application.
-Materials : Check that all materials used for tiling (ceramic materials, levelling systems, adhesives, grouts, waterproofing products, etc.) are suitable for the intended use and have been correctly stored.
-Expansion joints : Check that the perimeter, expansion, divider and structural elastic joints have been correctly designed and prepared. Divider joints are normally needed for 20/25 m2 indoor sections, and 9-15m2 outdoor sections. For exteriors, make sure joints are properly waterproofed and sealed.
-Back-buttering : For exterior installations, large tiles, floors with intense or heavy traffic, vibrating supports and situations exposed to high temperature fluctuations, the adhesive mortar must be applied to both the substrate and the back of the tiles so as to obtain a solid bed of adhesive without any air bubbles.
-Joints : -Type, format and size tolerance of tiles -thermal expansion coefficients of tiling materials -mechanical properties of installation materials -position and trajectory of joints -mechanical features of substrate -Intended use and operating conditions -Butt joints are not allowed. Any plastic spacers must be removed before grouting.
