Originated from the extinct, shallow and tropical Capiru Sea, Matarazzo is a result of the transformation of limestone into dolomitic marble, reflecting colors and textures that keep the history of ancient forms of life.

It consists of classifying the rock through the macroscopic and microscopic description of its characteristics, such as minerological composition, alteration, deformation and microcracking pattern.
