RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler is a fast cure cementitious pore filler for filling pores and voids in the matrix of surfaces prior to the application of RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing.

OVERCOATING

RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler can be overcoated with RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing when hard and dry - typically 1 to 2 hours after mixing. If more than 12 hours elapses clean the surface to ensure it is free of loose material and contamination.

WORKING TEMPERATURES

RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler can be used in most weather conditions and in a wide temperature range, from –10°C to +25C. At high ambient temperatures the working time of the mix will be considerably reduced, it will be increased at lower temperatures. Special precautions and methods of mixing and placing may be necessary at extremes of temperature.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler should be stored unopened between 5°C and 25°C in dry warehouse conditions off the ground and out of direct sunlight. In these conditions shelf life is approximately 9 months.

DESCRIPTION

It is used prior to the application of RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing to fill holes and voids in the surface and considerably reduce the amount of RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing Resin used on open texture surfaces. RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler has excellent adhesion to bituminous and cementitious surfaces. The speed of RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler enables it to be overlaid within 1 – 2 hours at 10°C to 20°C.

When on site Ronacrete representatives are able, if asked, to give a general indication of the correct method of installing a Ronacrete product. It is important to bear in mind that Ronacrete Ltd is a manufacturer and not an application contractor and it is therefore the responsibility of the contractor and his employer to ensure he is aware of and implements the correct practices and procedures to ensure the correct installation of the product and that liability for its correct installation lies with the contractor and not with Ronacrete Ltd.

Refer to the RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing data sheet for full information on surface preparation and testing. Repairs must be carried out with other materials before application. Surfaces must be cleaned of loose material, oil, grease and dampened with clean water prior to applying RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler.

MIXING

RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler can be mixed using a drill with suitable paddle attachment, in a forced action mixer or by hand. The working time is approximately 10-20 minutes at 20°C. Working time will be affected by material and ambient temperature and mixing time. It must be mixed close to the area of application so that it can be placed and finished before initial set. Excessive mixing should be avoided as this will generate a greater exotherm and accelerate the set. To mix, place the RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler in to the mixer or mixing container, dry mix until components evenly dispersed then add the supplied gauging liquid and mix until a self-smoothing pouring consistency is produced. Mixing time should not be more than 2-3 minutes.

LAYING

Using the edge of a trowel or squeegee blade, scrape apply the RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler to fill the pores - do not attempt to create a screed on the surface. Do not place any thickness on top of the substrate. Creating a thickness of RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler can result in early failure of the RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing placed on top of it.

CURING

Allow RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler to cure for 1 hour (at 10-20°C) then apply RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing. If more than 12 hours elapses clean the surface to ensure it is free of loose material and contamination.

LIMITATIONS

RonaDeck Resin Bonded Pore Filler is designed to fill open pores prior to the application of RonaDeck Resin Bonded Surfacing. It is not to be laid as a screed or to place any thickness on top of the existing surface.
