Laterlite Latermix Béton 1600 : 35 Mpa Lightweight Structural Concrete Mix
LATERMIX BÉTON 1600 : 35 MPA LIGHTWEIGHT STRUCTURAL CONCRETE MIX
LATERMIX BÉTON 1600 : 35 MPA LIGHTWEIGHT STRUCTURAL CONCRETE MIX
Latermix Béton 1600 is a 35 MPa lightweight structural concrete mix which, thanks to the Laterlite Structural Expanded Clay content as in replacement of traditional aggregates, allows a structural dead load reduction of at least 800 kg (1 tonne) per m3, with a density of 1600 kg/m3 compared to the 2400/2500 kg/m3 of a plain or current structural concrete, i.e. 33% lighter.
It is very useful in renovation and in the construction of new lightweight RC structures, while achieving high compressive strength – 35 MPa. Thanks to its low thermal conductivity compared to traditional concrete, Latermix Béton 1600 is also an “Insulating Structural Concrete” bagged, very useful to avoid thermal bridges in the building envelope.
CHARACTERISTICS AND ADVANTAGES
VERSATILE AND MULTIPURPOSE
Latermix Beton 1600 can replace ordinary structural concrete in any application, in interiors and exteriors, even as fair-faced concrete or for industrial concrete floors.
HIGH STRUCTURAL STRENGTH CONCRETE
Latermix Beton 1600 is a genuine high-strength class LC 30/33 (Rck 35 MPa – 350 kg/cm2) structural concrete that can be used for loadbearing RC structures in compliance with EN 206 and Eurocode 2
LIGHTWEIGHT
Latermix Beton 1600 contains Laterlite Structural Expanded Clay as a replacement for traditional aggregates that significantly reduces weight by at least 800 kg (0.8 tonne) per m3. With a density of 1600 kg/m3 (as opposed to 2400/2500 kg/m3 of an ordinary concrete), it is classified as an LWAC (lightweight aggregate concrete) and is particularly suitable for reconstruction work, for strengthening existing structures, or to prevent excessive loading in seismic zones.
RELIABLE PERFORMANCE
The binder dosage and grading curve of the components of Latermix Beton 1600 is factory checked and maintained constant. Using only water for the mix means that the performance of the completed component can be controlled effectively; this is particularly important for guaranteeing strength in structural applications and eliminates the risk and inaccuracy associated with products batched on site.
HIGH YIELD AND TRANSPORT EFFICIENCY
Lightweight means increased efficiency in both product yield and transport, allowing 60% more volume of Latermix 1600 concrete to be mixed on site compared to the same weight of traditional dry concrete. In terms of performance, only 47 bags of Latermix Béton 1400 are needed to produce 1 m³ of in-situ concrete, compared to 80 25 kg bags for a dry concrete of ordinary aggregates.
LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY CONCRETE
Thanks to its lambda (thermal conductivity) approx. 3 times lower than that of an ordinary concrete (lambda= 0.42 W/mK as opposed to 1.9 W/mK), Latemix Beton 1600 reduces thermal bridging (psi value ψ – linear thermal transmittance) and increases the energy efficiency of buildings.
The reduction of thermal bridges is possible both in new construction and in the renovation of all construction elements in contact with the building envelope, such as: in the junction between floor slabs and exterior walls, in horizontal and vertical walls or structural slab joints, in balconies and overhangs, in other structural or decorative elements, in stair construction, as well as in details of the surroundings of openings (lintels, sills, pillars, etc.). Using Latermix Beton 1600 reduces heat loss and avoids the risk of pathologies such as mould and condensation in the interior of dwellings, typical of thermal bridges in both renovations and new construction, without the need to use complex systems to break these thermal bridges.
