Wallpaper Les Crafties - Mosaique / Pink
Three stories, three narratives, three patterns: Gaufrettes: inspired by the suppleness of fabric, it is one of the Crafties' signature pieces.
Mosaïque: a tribute to Maison Picassiette, a house entirely made of mosaic fragments. Croisillon: inspired by cane weaving.
Patterns used by the Crafties are indicative of a fascination for printing techniques found in micropublishing, in particular: risographs.

DETAIL
The technique involves the application of successive layers (just one colour per layer) that are added atop each other to reveal the final pattern. With the design comes additional inspiration: textiles. Materials that the duo can harness to create a narrative in space through the use of wallpapers, coverings, custom-made textile decorations, fabric frescoes.
LES CRAFTIES
Since they founded Les Crafties studio in 2018, Jeanne and Marie-Marie have been creating sets applied to domestics spaces. Their collections are props, families of objects, a contemporary heritage of ensembliers.
They think of their pieces in dialogue of materials, colors and scales. It is a joyful back and forth between volume and flatness, and above all the desire to visually translate the pleasure of manipulating materials. The motif as the panorama is at the center of their work, liberated it takes an important place, carrying culture and symbolism. The work touches the craft, the production of small series, installations, exhibitions or self-produced objects. At the edge of the artistic installation and design, they proudly wear this double hat, in a will of complementarity and declassification.
