Instructions

WALL PAPER INSTALLING INSTRUCTIONS

- The surface to be pasted must be clean, smooth and dry, as well as even. Residue of old, crampling wallpaper and wall coverings must be removed. Use plaster to level imperfections and to fill holes.
- For a professional fixing operation you need: a bucket, a brush that doesn't lose bristles, a pair of scissors, spatula, ladder, sponge and clean rags, wallpapering table, long enough to to unroll the wall paper, a plumb line and a soft pencil. For optimal results, professionals should be contacted.
- Choose the type of paste according to the paper weight and prepare the paste in a clean bucket.

- Spread the paste on the back of the paper and let it dry for a few minutes. This will facilitate the fixing operation. The thicker the paper, the longer will be the drying time which, however shouldn't exceed a few minutes, usually 3 minutes are enough.
- The plumb line is absolutely necessary to make sure that the first sheet is fixed straight. You can also mark a straight vertical line on the wall to be used as a trace

- Wall paper paste doesn't dry up quickly so you'll have enough time to fix the sheet properly
- Paste the top of the panel first and slide the roll down vertically aligning with the plumb line. Stretch the sheet on the wall and smoothen it with a soft, neutral cloth, starting from the middle and moving softly outwards, first to one side then to the other, until it is completely fixed. Air bubbles can thus be avoided.

- Pay attention to the paste drying time to avoid bubbles and imperfections. Make sure that the entire panel is evenly smoothened.
- Excess paste residue can easily be cleaned off whilst still moist, by wiping down the panel with a wet natural sponge

- Air drafts in the room to be wallpapered should be avoided as a fast drying could be harmful. Wallpaper hanging should be done with closed windows
- Once the first panel has been hanged, the following ones and especially those with repeatable patterns, should be carefully lined up.
