Water based polyurethane aliphatic varnish
Two-component water based polyurethane aliphatic varnish with rapid application (2nd layer within 30 minutes). Protects different type of surfaces such as natural stone coverings, microcement coatings, concrete floors against dirt, water and oily pollutants and provides a mat finish without altering the color of the coating.
Its rapid application makes it ideal for indoor and outdoor renovations. Ideal final protective layer on PLANOCOLOR RESIN epoxy floors, with double action of honed finish and significantly improved surface strength against abrasion. It is compatible with PLANOFINISH EPOXY and DRY BRIGHT varnishes, applied in 2 layers, in cases that increased protection is required.
It is also mixed with NOVACOLOR DESIGN pigments in reconstruction works – repairs of the coating or the varnish.

USES
PLANOFINISH PU 2KS MAT solvent based aliphatic polyurethane varnish with mat finish can be used to protect and enhance surfaces such as: microcement coatings like PLANOCOLOR PREMIUM 2K for outdoor use and floors with heavy use in homes, hotels, parking areas, outdoor benches and built in furniture.
-Self-levelling epoxy coatings or floor paints such as epoxy systems PLANOCOAT EPX or PLANOCOLOR LIQUID GLASS in order to increase surface strength in mechanical loads. -Natural stones such as Karystos mostly in external areas. -Concrete industrial floors by means of power float and superficial hardener such as NOVADUR S in industries, parking areas, gas stations, ramps non-absorbent surfaces such as galvanized metal sheets, polyester.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
The surface to which PLANOFINISH PU 2KW MAT is to be applied, should be clean, dry and free from dust. The substrate must be insulated and not subject to rising moisture. The maximum permissible moisture content of the surface must not exceed 4%. The application surface temperature (caution not ambient temperature) should be between + 15°C and + 28°C.
CLEANING
Buckets, tools, coatings etc. can be cleaned with water as long as the mix is still fresh. Once dried cleaning can be done only by mechanical means or strong corrosives.
APPLICATION OF THE MIX
Apply the mix in at least 2 continuous (non-interruptive) layers using a suitable varnish roller. In any case, ensure that the varnish penetrates well in the treated surface. The waiting time between layers is 15-30 minutes for temperature 23°C and relative humidity less than 80%.
MAINTENANCE
Daily cleaning of surfaces treated with PLANOFINISH PU 2KW MAT is done with neutral detergents such as NEUTROCLEANER undiluted or diluted in water depending on the application. For special cleaning cases such as black rubber stains, household stains, wax etc. it is recommended to use ALCALINE CLEANER dissolved in water in a ratio of 1 ÷ 10 - 1 ÷ 20.
In the case we want to remove salts or "hard" stains such as cement residues, apply HARD REMOVER diluted in water in a ratio of 1 ÷ 3 or 1 ÷ 4 and rinse thoroughly with water. In casesrtg of doubt when using detergents always perform a trial application.
For graffiti cleaning applies water under pressure or CLEANCOLL SP. For additional information, refer to the relative Technical Data Sheets of the products.
RECOMMENDATIONS
-Do not apply in surfaces that are not dry -Do not apply the varnish on surfaces where rising humidity is possible or present -Do not apply when the temperature is lower than +120C and the relative humidity of the atmosphere exceeds 80%, or when there is a possibility of rain and wet weather, before the varnish is completely dry
-Do not apply PLANOFINISH PU 2KW MAT upon old varnishes and dusty or dirty surfaces -PLANOFINISH PU 2KW MAT contains a small percentage of solvents and in any case any precautions required by the use of solvent based materials should be applied -The two components of PLANOFINISH PU 2KW MAT are in a premeasured proportion so never mix partially the two components
-Do not apply PLANOFINISH PU 2KW MAT in excess quantity -Always use appropriate and clean tools -The application has to be performed by a professional user
PREPARATION OF THE MIX
Components A and B are in containers with a predetermined mixing ratio. Component B is completely added to component A. Mixing of the two components is done for about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer at low speed (300 rpm). It is important to stir both the walls and the bottom of the container so that the catalyst goes everywhere evenly. Allow the mix to rest for a few minutes and proceed with the application while keeping the material's workability times.
