PERFORATED
ACOUSTIC AND PERFORATED PATTERNS
DesignerPly is ideal for perforating with stunning visual impact, as well as aiding in sound absorption.
We are able to help you meet specific acoustic requirements including providing the panels with black acoustic backing or pairing the product with our Acoustic Pinboard.
The perforation patterns are entirely customisable. Pick the shape of the perforation and size knowing the layered ply will shine through. The substrate and finish are also entirely tailored to the project, including Power Coated.
PERFORATION INFO
-ForestOne can offer a standard range of perforations (holes and slots) as well as customised options of your own design. Talk to your rep or contact us for further information. -When perforating DesignerPly Hoop Pine Plywood it should be noted that full sheets require edge trimming prior to perforating. This will result in the finished panel size being 2390mm x 1190mm. -Perforated panels are provided under customers directions in terms of hole size, centre to centre measurement and open spacing. For acoustic properties (including the choice of backing material) please consult with a qualified sound engineer or specialist consultant for advice and final NRC raings. -We can even coordinate pre-drilling for downlights, sprinkler heads and air-conditioning vents if required. Make sure you advise of requirements when placing orders. -As the Cone Calorimeter test AS/ NZS 3837 cannot predict full room fire testing when there are perforations or slots in timber panels it is necessary to obtain fire engineering assessments on specific projects as these are specified. If you require a fire engineering assessment for your project with perforated or slotted panels, your ForestOne representative would be happy to assist in directing you to the appropriate organisation.
POWDER COATED
POWDER COATED DESIGNERPLY
Enhancing the elegance of plywood while adding additional protection and durability.
When a tough surface is required for high volume wear and tear areas, powder coated DesignerPly is an ideal solution. The coating is UV cured onto the panel, imbuing extra durability. The VOC free process allows us to provide a pre-finished panel reducing on-site installation time.
SINGLE SIDED
Single Sided means coated on the face and edges with a light final sand to the face but not coated at all on the reverse side of a panel. NB some overspray on the reverse may occur.
DOUBLE SIDED STANDARD
Double Sided Standard means coated on the face, back and edges with a light final sand to the face ONLY – ie the back of the panel is coated but does not have the final light sand.
DOUBLE SIDED PREMIUM
Double Sided Premium means coated on the face, back and edges with a light final sand to the face AND back

POWDER COATING INFO
-DesignerPly panels that are pre-finished with powder coating requiring to be cut on site can have a normal water based clear sealer rubbed onto the edges for finishing. -Touch up pressure packs can also be purchased through ForestOne if required. Talk to our sales team for further details. -Lead times of 15 working days for non-stocked orders, up to 200 sheets. For orders with more than 200 sheets, greater lead times may apply. -Powder coated and cut to size panels are possible. Pricing on application; talk to our sales team for more information. -Antimicrobial finishes are available upon request -We only recommend powder coating of A Grade DesignerPly faces. Coating of B face Plywoods will require customer sign-off prior to commencement. -Note that B and C Grade back of sheets will have characteristics or repairs that could be in fact highlighted with powder coating. If a clear finish is required for applications where both sides of the panels are visible we recommend the use of either Marine Ply (A face and A Back) or having two half thickness sheets laminated together back to back to provide two x A faces – ie 2 x 12mm sheets pressed together to make a 24mm thick finished panel with two good sides. -Because of natural variability with plywood it is required that all sheets be inspected prior to installation.

A decorative range of plywood specially selected to create a visual impact – from wall panelling, joinery and ceiling panels. The DesignerPly range offers an extensive range of products for many applications with clear and feature veneers to pre-finished Powder Coated and Printed surfaces to achieve your desired designs.
STUBBORN STAINS
Use a cleaning agent: either SPRAY n WIPE or Windex (avoid baking soda). Apply the spray directly to the cleaning rag or a microfiber cloth. Using firm pressure work the cleaner over the entire area in a circular motion. Follow up immediately with water dampened cloth and buff dry.
CAUTION
Do not use abrasive cleaners such as bleach, ammonia, acid, abrasive powders, caustic products, acetone, thinners, MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) and similar hydrocarbons. Never use oven cleaners, wire wool, scouring pads or sandpaper.
CLEANING
- Wipe off all food and drink spills immediately.
- A wipe over with a clean, soft damp cloth is generally sufficient to keep the decorative surface clean
- Wipe over the surface and buff dry immediately.
- To avoid surface scratches or marks make sure the cleaning cloth is free of any abrasive contaminates.
- Soiled surfaces or light stains are removed with a microfiber style cloth or soft cotton rag dampened with warm soapy water.
DESIGNERPLY
-DesignerPly are appearance grade plywoods and as such generally are not rated structurally.
-Even plywoods with A faces are still permissible to have a small amount of naturally occurring features.
-Samples are only an indication of a full sheet of plywood and often do not show a true indication of how a full sheet will look.
-DesignerPly and plywood in general is a natural product and as such will vary from sheet to sheet in appeaance.
-Plywood used as door panels (or in a freestanding application where panels are not fixed into place) can be subject to bowing or warping due primarily to changes in temperature, humidity or other environmental factors. We do not recommend or warrant plywood for doors in applications where they are not secured or are considered to be freestanding (including hinged doors). For further details refer to our FAQ section.
-Any plywood exposed to the weather or in wet or damp applications must be assessed for the particular end use and exposure and may require additional processing immunisation, surface finishing or preservative treatment.
-Plywood can have laminate pressed onto the face and back (should be both sides for equalisation) which gives a brilliant finish with a plywood edge. Talk to us about which plywood and laminate to use in this kind of application
-Before installation plywood should be kept dry and stored indoors and in a well ventilated environment. Sheets should be kept flat and not rested on their edges as this could cause bowing of the panels.
-DesignerPly used in semi exterior applications must not be in direct weather and must be treated/sealed on all faces, edges and any other penetrations with an applicable sealer.
-All non-perforated/solid DesignerPly substrates have a Group 3 fire rating. These can be ordered as Group 1 fire rated in conjunction with our FR+ coating system. Refer to the FR+ page for further details.
