Anston Architectural Pedestal Pavers

Anston’s reinforced pedestal pavers incorporate a sturdy, reinforced steel framework within the body of the paver, providing extra protection against breakage from impacts. Our pedestal system ensures that any cracking in the paver’s surface will not compromise the structural integrity of the paver, as the steel frame will firmly hold the body of the paver in place.

The security of this added reinforcement is a feature that simply isn’t available in natural stone products, and is only possible in a hand-crafted, engineered paver.

Available in over 40 sizes, our pedestal paving can be made in all 25 Anston colours and finishes. Enjoy the full range of benefits of using Anston reinforced pavers on a pedestal system, with reliable built-in security to bring you peace of mind.

We also offer a unique pedestal tile system that is long-lasting, sturdy and durable. You can install tiles without the use of additional materials such as grout and adhesives.

Want additional security for pedestrians? Choose our reinforced pavers, which provide structural integrity and prevent full breakage of the paving. With a diverse range of colours and sizes, you can choose reinforced pedestal pavers according to your project’s needs and requirements.

LEVELLING & DRAINAGE

The finished paved surface can be set perfectly level, as drainage grades are incorporated into the sub-base beneath. Any unevenness, gradients or irregularity on the sub-base can be easily accommodated using a pedestal system.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

In the case of paver failure, pavers laid on pedestals incur a higher risk of potential injury to pedestrians. When pavers installed on a solid base crack or break, the damage is cosmetic only. In comparison, pavers that break in a pedestal installation put pedestrians at risk of falling through to the paving sub-base. Pedestal heights vary and can reach up to 900mm, creating a larger gap between the paving and sub-base.

ANSTON’S PEDESTAL PAVING SOLUTION

To address these safety implications, Anston has produced a reinforced paving product which incorporates a steel mesh in the body of the paver. This mesh frame ensures that the paver maintains its structural integrity when cracked or subjected to high impact loads.

ACCESS & CONCEALMENT OF SERVICES

The gap between the paved surface and sub-base allows the passage of services such as plumbing and electrical. These are easily and quickly accessed by removing only the relevant pavers, which are simply placed back into position once the work is complete.

ADVANTAGES

-A paver on pedestal system consists of multiple pavers installed on top of pedestal supports, which raise the height of pavers above the sub-base. This system is commonly used to construct strong and sturdy elevated flooring over waterproof membranes. -Due to the absence of grout, the pedestal pavement prevents water entrapment and effectively reduces heat conductivity thus keeping the membrane from expanding due to excessive heat. -The highly unique pavers on pedestals create a level paved surface. The even uniform gaps between pavers allow water to drain between the tiles. Additional services can be concealed beneath the paving and easily accessed when required by simply lifting the pavers off the pedestals. -At Anston, we offer a diverse range of pedestal paving products to our customers. Designed for installation specifically with pedestal paving systems, our pedestal pavers are highly versatile, aesthetically pleasing and equipped with an in-built safety feature.

QUICK, GROUTLESS INSTALLATION

A pedestal installation provides significant time and cost savings. Minimal site preparation is required, and pedestals are set into place without the need for any adhesive. The process of grouting is also no longer necessary, which results in a cleaner, neater-looking installation and eliminates the effects of grout smear.

INSTALLATION

-Pedestal systems are most commonly used in commercial buildings and residential apartments on balconies and roof terraces. However, there is no limit on the types of spaces that can be designed to use pedestals. We have previously supplied our pedestal paving systems for use in private homes. -It is clear that pedestal systems provide a range of benefits to installers as well as end users. If you’re unsure about what type of paving you can use for this application, consult with our experts at Anston for more information. We only source quality materials and products for the construction of our pedestal pavers. -Pedestal systems are typically not appropriate for installation in areas requiring access for vehicular traffic, or heavy machineries such as forklifts and scissor lifts. We strongly recommend installing paving on a solid base for these applications.
