A Longlight solution is a single row of modules that lights up hallways, corridors and large rooms with natural daylight. Multiple rows of Longlights form an ideal glass roof for large open areas, e.g. atriums.
Install the Longlights to follow the interior floor plan to optimise daylight and ventilation in every corner of the room. The modular Longlights allow fast and easy closure of the roof to reduce cost and speed up the interior works.
Modular Skylights are delivered with a 10-year guarantee on modules and flashings. VELUX skylight specialists offer support throughout design, specification and installation, including design of the sub-construction needed for installation.

Create a unique skylight solution
By adapting the interior linings, the Modular Skylights can meet the demands of modern architecture featuring irregular or curved shapes, e.g. obtuse angles, acute angles or ovals.
DETAIL
Modular Skylight system is a turnkey solution comprising prefabricated skylight modules with dedicated claddings, flashings and vapour barrier connection strip to allow for design of watertight rooflight and glass roof structures. Comfort ventilation is possible via an integrated chain actuator that can be controlled with VELUX INTEGRA® system or with your preferred building management system.
Smoke ventilation can only be controlled with your preferred building management system. For optimal daylight and heat control consider internal roller blinds that can be pre-mounted from the factory. View an interactive 3D sample of the Modular Skylight system.
PERFORMANCE
The Modular Skylight profiles (sash and frame) are made of pultruded fiberglass (80%) and polyurethane composite (20%). The composite material provides high insulation performance and thermal stability as well as excellent profile stiffness and bending strength.
Due to the concept of prefabrication, we are able to test our products extensively against all thinkable hazards and stressful events. Tests are performed in controlled environments in accordance with harmonized standards for both Windows and doors and for Smoke and Heat control systems.
FUNCTIONS
Modular Skylights are available in a wide range of standard sizes and functionalities:
1. Fixed Skylight Module
Actuator chain stroke 260 mm.
Actuator chain stroke up to 700 mm, which opens in less than 60 seconds.
MODULAR SKYLIGHTS REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM MEASUREMENTS:
- Module width: 675-1000 mm
- Module height: 600-3000 mm
GLAZING
Modular Skylights come with standard low-energy double or triple glazing with the following features:
- Insulated glazing (Ug values down to 0.5 W/m²K)
- Toughened outer glass
- Laminated inner safety glass
- Falling through safety
- Sound insulation (traffic, rain and hail)
- Step pane (leads water off the unit)
- Sun protection coating (optional)
- Warm edge spacer (protects insulation properties over time and minimizes the risk of condensation at pane edges)
