Expansion joints are essential in long expanses of concrete to avoid cracking caused by temperature changes.
The elements separated by the joint must be supported to enable load transfer. The simplest solution for transferring these forces in expansion joints is to use the shear connector Schöck Dorn Type LD.
Dorn Type LD and LD-Q connect the elements on each side of the joint and transfer small to medium shear forces while maintaining mobility. They enable free movement in the direction of the dowel axis.
Free movement in the transverse direction is also an option. Made of stainless or galvanized steel, they provide the expected corrosion resistance. The sleeves are optional.
