3M 3M™ Sun Control Window Film
3M™ SUN CONTROL WINDOW FILM
3M™ SUN CONTROL WINDOW FILM, SILVER PLASTIC SERIES
3M™ Sun Control Window Film, Silver Plastic Series is our window film range featuring metallised technology that rejects heat and excess light to reduce glare.
Protect homes and offices from heat gain through 3M™ Sun Control Window Film, Silver Plastic Series. Our metallised window films reject heat and excess light to reduce glare through polycarbonate (PC) and acrylic (PMMA) units. Depending on lighting conditions privacy is increased protecting rooms from unwanted glances.
Heat gain is significantly reduced creating a comfortable environment, especially in warmer months, as well as helping to reduce the use of air conditioners, saving energy costs. A significant amount of damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays are blocked reducing fading in fabrics and furnishings.
- Designed for use on polycarbonate (PC) and acrylic (PMMA) glazing
- Keeps occupants cool and comfortable
- Reduces cooling costs
- Helps to reduce glare
- Protects furniture and fabrics from fading
INFORMATION
APPLICATIONS
3M™ Silver 15 Plastic is suitable for use on some polycarbonate (PC) and acrylic (PMMA) glazing used in buildings. It can be installed on either the interior or the exterior of these substrates. It can also be used on glass.
DRYING TIME
Final adhesion is reached after approximately 20 days at +18°C and dry conditions. Please refer to local instructions for details

RECOMMENDED SUBSTRATE
PC, PMMA, Glass (as described in EN 15755-1) Some plastics tend to outgas on exposure to heat. Depending on the severity of the outgassing, air bubbles can form between substrate and adhesive. Therefore it is recommended to test the suitability of the plastic substrate prior to complete installation.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
- For exterior applications check weather forecast when planning the application. Do not install during precipitation or if the exterior temperature should drop below 0°C within 15 days after installation.
- Use a firm, narrow squeegee e.g. Blue Max 12.7cm. Use both hands to apply consistent, firm pressure across the squeegee blade. Overlap 50% from previous stroke. Remove as much water pass as possible in one pass.
