DOMESTIC HOT WATER SYSTEMS WITH TANK
DOMESTIC HOT WATER SYSTEMS WITH TANK
Water heaters with tank are suitable solutions for hospitals, sports arenas, hotels, apartment blocks and similar large buildings.

The product range covers storage and charge systems which all combine the demand for high-performance, comfort, hygiene and resource-efficient operation. The systems can be combined with a second or multiple DHW storage tanks for optimum tailoring to on-site conditions, available with ready-to-mount piping.
INFORMATION
SPECIFYING YOUR SYSTEM
System size is determined by the potential demand for heating and hot water. The temperature and pressure of the primary heat supply will determine whether a station is operated directly or indirectly. You will also need to meet the technical criteria of the relevant district heating network. This will influence your choice of control and heat transfer components. Equipment choices will also be affected by the number and type of heating circuits and by the specific form and function of domestic hot water required.

OUR STORAGE CHARGING SYSTEMS FEATURE THESE TWO FUNCTIONS:
- Storage Charging System - Due to the high-efficiency heating surface of the plate heat exchanger, the ThermoDual® systems obtain low return temperatures in the total operating sequence of a storage recharge, thereby resulting in reduced required volume flow rate. This means economical operation and makes the systems highly suited for application in district heating networks as well as in connection with condensing boilers.
- Anti-legionella System - The Danfoss domestic hot water system ThermoClean® provides an additional effective solution for legionella-free domestic hot water production. ThermoClean® systems operate according to the principles of thermal disinfection, ensuring that the reaction temperature in the system is maintained at a constant temperature of 70°C. This provides effective protection against legionella bacteria in the domestic hot water system.
PROCESSES
A storage water heater operates by releasing hot water from the top of the tank when the hot water tap is turned on. To replace that hot water, cold water enters the bottom of the tank, ensuring that the tank is always full.
COMPLETE SOLUTIONS FROM A SINGLE SUPPLIER
Our complete solutions cover flat stations and district heating substations in a range from 2 kW to more than 4 MW. Danfoss substations can be directly or indirectly operated via one or more heating circuits, with primary or secondary side DHW heating specified as flow, storage tank or anti-legionella systems.
FEATURES
- Low return temperatures in the total operating sequence of a storage recharge, reduced required volume flow rate.
- Highly suited for application in district heating networks as well as in connection with condensing boilers.
- Special system with additional effective anti legionella function for domestic hot water production.
- Electronic control gives you excellent operating economy.
CASE STUDIES
RENOVATION OF AN APARTMENT BUILDING WITH FLAT STATIONS, HAMBURG, GERMANY
Until 2014, the apartments in this multi-family building located in the Hamburg suburb of Bergedorf were heated using electrical water heaters and supplied with domestic hot water using electrical instantaneous water heaters.
Now, after the renovation, a block heating station in the basement of the building provides heating distributed via flat stations installed in the stairwell and used for decentralized domestic hot water. Tenants were able to stay in their apartments throughout the renovation process.
FULLY EQUIPPED DANFOSS SUBSTATIONS REPLACE OLD DISTRICT HEATING INSTALLATIONS
At Belgrade’s main hospital the heat and hot water systems have been modernized. A new gas fired engine in combination with 58 new substations and a new district heating system has let to security of supply, 35-40 % of saved energy costs and a dramatic fall in pollution level.
DISTRICT HEATING COMPACT STATIONS IN MIKADO HOUSE, ORESTADEN, DENMARK
Consulting engineer company MidtConsult A/S in Herning works on many of the country’s prestige building projects. For more than 20 years the company has chosen Gemina Termix A/S - Member of the Danfoss Group - as the preferred supplier of district heating substations for both small as well as large building projects in all corners of Denmark.
