DESIGNER
PAOLA NAVONE
Born in Turin, she lives and works in Milan and Paris. However, as a cosmopolitan globetrotter, she has never stopped travelling and occasionally putting down roots somewhere else.
When she was still a student, she left Turin for Florence fascinated by the anti-academic, radical architecture of the Archizoom, Superstudio and UFO groups and their daring, far-sighted projects which were so far removed from the traditional concept of design.
The cultural climate that she breathed in her years as a student become an integral part of her. Shortly after she graduated, she decided to accompany an ethnologist who was studying former nomadic peoples of the Cameroon. She moved to Africa and worked on research projects into the various ethnic groups.
From 1970 to 1980, she worked in Milan alongside Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass and Andrea Branzi who, coordinated by Alessandro Guerriero, had founded the Alchimia group which represented the anti-academic, defiant side of the cultural history of Italian design. Insights into that world became a solid basis for the future: emotions overcoming functional purpose,
the social value of creative expression, the ethical role of industry and the value of surface area versus structure. From 1984 to 2000, she lived in the Far East in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and the Philippines. She discovered new worlds which were capable of creating unusual innovations. Ideas and projects took form in the Far East that would never have come to light in the studio in Milan. This experience consolidated her natural disposition for mixing and combining elements.
In her intense, multifaceted career, she has worked and continues to work as an architect, designer, art director, interior designer, stage designer and essayist. She designs interiors for homes, offices, restaurants, stores and showrooms. She also designs and coordinates stands and installations for several major exhibitions held worldwide.

Designing the everyday, improving it, raising its quality. This is the path that Mamoli has chosen to steer its products towards a deeper understanding of the contemporary, towards a vision that spans beyond functionality into the ritual nature of the bath-space. A search lived out through an ongoing reinterpretation of our behavioral, aesthetic and functional models. A reflection that led Mamoli to focus on the need for certainties and the thirst for active stimulation from our immediate environment (architecture, design, shapes and materials) as the path for opening up to new solutions. The Mamoli philosophy is founded on a business past that is rich in history and innovative capacity : since 1932, Mamoli has lived out every stage and transformation in Italian society to its fullest, both in industrial terms as well as, even more importantly, at the level of lifestyle and customs.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
We are committed to creating products and systems that minimize energy consumption and reduce usage waste of resources by utilizing innovative technologies and recycled biodegradable cardboard packaging. We invest in Research & Development to find new design and manufacturing solutions that create products and processes that respect humans and their habitat. We pay maximum attention to the responsible use of resources, preserving non-renewable energy sources, streamlining processes and implementing precision planning. For this we set up manufacturing facilities with closed circuits, where the water used in the electroplating process is purified and reused again in production.
