Leevn is the 5thaddition to the Acoustics designed by renowned textile designer Aleksandra Gaca, Leevn is produced in fire-resistant Trevira CS and is available in several fresh color combinations.

Acoustics is a series of sound absorbing textile panels with a woven 3D structure.

Due to their ribbed texture and the thickness of the materials, these fabrics absorb and reflect sound waves much better than flat textiles; thus contributing to a more muted environment.

DESIGNER

ALEKSANDRA GACA

Textile designer Aleksandra Gaca (*1969) attended the Secondary School of Fine Arts in her hometown of Lódz (Poland).  She then studied at the Faculty of Textiles and Fashion at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague.

She received several international prizes for her experimental textile modelling.

Aleksandra Gaca lives and works as an independent textile designer in Delft.

As regards innovation, the emphasis is explicitly on spatial weaving structures and three- dimensional effects. Lots of experiments were carried out with combinations and special types of yarn she developed herself.

There is a wide use of materials from soft mohair to super-strong polyester.

Also sturdy yarns such as lurex, paper yarns and metal wire are regularly processed. These contrasts make for the thus characterized structures and reliefs. But also tactility and a whole range of expressions: matt/gloss, hard/soft, high-tech versus natural. Technical qualities are linked to the love of the weaving profession. The final result of this is fascinating fabrics on the cutting edge of art, design and architectonic modelling.

ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE

Class A acoustic rating

Our acoustic panels offer outstanding performance, both in absorption and diffusion of the sound. Thanks to our 3D woven fabric, the surface of the acoustic element increases drastically: Casalis’ acoustic element is absorbing more than 90% of the sound, which comes in contact with it.

WEAVING

It’s 08:54 AM in Flanders

Years of experience and know-how of woven textiles have allowed us to develop top quality 3D fabrics using state of the art warping and weaving machines.

TREVIRA CS POLYESTER

Comfort and safety, the two most important requirements in home textiles, were first successfully combined in 1980 with the creation of flame retardant Trevira fibers and yarns. Textiles made from these fibers and yarns carry the trademark Trevira CS and are permanently flame retardant. Unlike fabrics that receive a surface treatment at a later stage, Trevira CS textiles offer long-term safety and security.
